Terms and Privacy
Thank you for visiting the ASOPRS website. The privacy of our members and site visitors is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used at our site.
The Information We Collect
Members and guests knowingly provide specific personal information during event registration. The information typically includes: your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, and payment information. Access to Members Only resources requires members to register by providing limited information. We may also collect certain non-personal information including the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, and the domain name of your Internet service provider.
How We Use the Information
We use the information you provide about yourself and your institution to respond to your inquiries, to notify you of any changes or cancellations of ASOPRS conferences, and to provide Society news and services. If you wish to be removed from our mailing list at any, time please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
ASOPRS makes member contact information available to all members by request and ASOPRS staff. Member contact information can also be accessed through the Members’ Only directory and the Public directory. Members are in control of the information they wish to be made public in the Members’ Only and Public directories. We also make minimal conference registration information available to our event sponsors; however, you are given the opportunity to “opt out” during registration.
The non-personal information gathered may be used to improve the design and content of our site and in the aggregate to analyze site usage. We may disclose personal information in response to legal process (e.g., in response to a court order or subpoena). We also may disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency’s request.
Finally, we may disclose personal information in response to a charge-back inquiry from our merchant bank about your payment for goods and/or services. We will not sell or transfer personally identifiable information provided to us to parties outside our association, except as described above.
ASOPRS is committed to protecting your privacy online and has taken steps to protect the information you share with us. For example, we use encryption technology to safeguard your credit card data used in electronic commerce transactions and all transactions occur over secure SSL connections. You have the option as a member to store your credit card information securely, encrypted to auto renew your dues. Your credit card data is not stored or saved by the website if you choose to save a credit card for future use. When you enter the credit card information on the form to be stored, it is passed directly to Authorize.net payment gateway and then it is stored. Authorize.net's CIM service allows for key credit card data to be tokenized and stored on Authorize.net's secure servers. Only reference data is stored on our website.
To help us protect your privacy, you should maintain the secrecy of the logon ID and password you may have set up in connection with your participation in any ASOPRS events.
The cancellation policy for ASOPRS’ meetings can be found in the registration brochure and on the online registration module when registering.
Member dues are non-refundable.

Cookies, by themselves, do not tell us your e-mail address or other personal information unless you choose to provide this information to us. However, once you choose to furnish our site with personally identifiable information, this information may be linked to the data stored in the cookie.
Our site may contain links to other sites whose information practices may be different from ours. Visitors should consult the other sites’ privacy notices, as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.
