ASOPRS Resident Travel Grants

ASOPRS is committed to serving diverse and medically underserved communities and supporting future oculofacial plastic surgeons with a desire to serve these communities. We are pleased to offer travel grants to eligible ophthalmology residents (PGY1-4) who are interested in OPS as a specialty and in attending the ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium.

Eligibility:

  1. Applicants must be a resident (PGY1-4) at an ACGME-approved program. 
  2. Must be a US citizen, permanent resident of the US or a US territory, or Canadian citizen
  3. Applicants must register for and attend the ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium if selected.
  4. Applicants must be a first time attendee of the ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium.

Consideration will be given to applicants’ personal background and their interest and commitment to serving diverse and medically underserved communities.

Up to five (5) travel grants are awarded per year with a maximum of $2000 per grant. The grant is provided as reimbursement to recipients after expenses have been incurred. 

Reimbursements are limited to ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium costs including lodging during the meeting, airfare, travel expenses (transportation, parking, etc.), and meals not served during the meeting. ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium registration fees will be waived for grant recipients.
